The taste started with some peach and peach skin, then went into golden raisins. What was odd was there was an off-putting plastic note. The nose had some golden fruit and then a strong booze note. The body was a bright orange color and very cloudy with little visible carbonation. It took a long time to dissipate and left some lacing on the glass. The beer poured with a thick, one finger, slightly off white head. Random: This beer uses Bullion and CZ Saaz hops. Trivia: According to the brewery website, “Very smooth & delicate, finishes dry with a hint of tartness.” When I first got out there, I thought it was weird that random people would talk to me, but I got used to it after awhile. It's unreliable.I’ve been basically living out of hotels for the past couple of weeks and I will say that people in Ohio are much nicer than people out here. Scuttlebutt can be excellent, but I give it a poor rating because it may be awful on any given day. On a sunny day though you can't carry on a conversation over the truck noise and your beer tastes mostly like diesel exhaust. If the road is not busy, it's really relaxing. Just remember that it's on the corner of an intersection where lots of big pickup trucks, many of them diesel, turn to pick up or drop off boats. Patio: The patio can be really nice on a good day. I've had good and bad service on both busy and quiet days. I've also had servers that don't know what's on the menu, don't bother to listen (Diet Coke, not coke hold the mayo glass of water please?) The funny thing is there doesn't seem to be a correlation with how busy it is. Once it was excellent, the second time it was an oil slick with a total of two shrimp. I've ordered the Cajun shrimp linguini twice. The second time is was dried out and terrible. I've ordered the Philly cheesesteak twice. The question is with who's cooking in the back and the time until it's served. Menu: The menu has enough variety to please most people. I guess the best option is to ask for a sample, which they are good about providing. However, I know people who really like the same beer. The last beer I had at Scuttlebutt tasted like old coffee strained through a urinal mat. Beer: Beer is always a matter of personal taste. You don't know which it will be until you get there. I would eat there is you were just getting off a boat and we’re sunburned with a limited ability to taste due to extreme exposure to seawater. How many times can a brew pub make a second rate eating establishment? Well, for scuttlebutt - twice. The beer is good, but who cannot make a decent beer. Now the real reason to go there is the beer. The burger was nothing special with burnt bacon and a small shot of ketchup. The blue cheese dressing was in a one ounce serving shot glass. Cobb salad was on a small plate that didn’t fit the amount of stuff they piled on. The place in not visible from the road, and the inside looks like they took a layout from the Denny’s of yesteryear. Meth houses, jail, and a strange marina is more what I expect in Everett. I understand wanting to be down at the waterfront, but Everett is not know for it scenic waterfront. It is a strange thing to walk from the outside through the servers entrance on their deck from the awkward shaped parking lot.
